birds and people food

a bird was eating someone's lunch. people food. off of a picnic blanket where there were things, and the people had left. was the bird the only one involved? i'm always rooting for animals. people saw the bird and laughed, and they saw me looking at the bird and not stopping it for the reason why they thought i was thinking and were mad at me for it, that i liked the bird more than the people. for my own selfish amusement? or is it because i decided the picnickers were probably dumb anyway? unusual things should happen to people. food is useless after all, it takes money but doesn't leave you better off.
